Service guide

What each service actually is

Color-change vinyl wraps

A full-vehicle color-change wrap replaces the visible surface of your factory paint with a premium cast vinyl film — matte, satin, gloss, brushed metallic, or color-shift. It is fully reversible, protects the paint underneath, and lasts 5–7 years on average. Popular in SoCal for supercars, tuner builds, and daily drivers looking for a bold refresh without a $10k+ paint job.

Paint protection film (PPF / clear bra)

PPF is a clear, self-healing urethane film applied over factory paint on impact-prone panels (bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, A-pillars) or the entire vehicle. It absorbs rock chips, bug etching, and light scratches while remaining virtually invisible. The strongest single upgrade for preserving resale value on new or high-end vehicles.

Ceramic coating

A ceramic coating is a chemical sealant — typically SiO₂ or graphene-based — professionally applied over paint (or over PPF or vinyl) to add hydrophobic beading, gloss, and easier washing. Not a rock-chip barrier; think of it as a long-life sealant, replacing wax or spray sealants for 3–9 years.

Chrome delete & blackout

Chrome delete uses satin or gloss black vinyl to cover factory chrome trim, window surrounds, badges, and grille slats. It is the fastest way to modernize an older or luxury vehicle and typically runs $400–$1,200 depending on trim count. Fully reversible.

Commercial & fleet wraps

Design, print, and install full or partial wraps on work vans, box trucks, service vehicles, and delivery fleets. Includes brand-consistent color matching, multi-vehicle scheduling, and periodic re-wraps as vehicles rotate through the fleet.

Custom graphics & liveries

Race stripes, hood scoops, roof wraps, one-off tribute liveries, and printed graphics cut and installed to spec. Common for track cars, time-attack builds, and enthusiast projects that want a specific look without a full color change.

FAQ

Common questions about wrap and PPF services

How do I choose the right service for my car?+

If you want to change the look, start with a vinyl wrap or chrome delete. If you want to protect factory paint from rock chips and daily-driving wear, start with paint protection film (PPF). If you want long-term gloss and easier washing on top of either, add a ceramic coating. Many SoCal shops in this directory offer bundled packages that combine PPF on the front end with a full vinyl wrap and ceramic coating on top.

Wrap vs PPF — which should I get first?+

PPF goes on before a wrap when both are being applied. Clear PPF protects the factory paint underneath from stone chips, and vinyl wrap sits on top to change the color. If you only want one, choose based on intent: PPF preserves resale value on paint you love; vinyl wrap transforms the appearance and is fully reversible.

What film brands should I ask for?+

For color-change vinyl: 3M 1080/2080, Avery Dennison SW900, Inozetek Super Gloss, KPMF K88000 color-shift, and Hexis Skintac HX30000 are the premium cast lines used by shops in this directory. For PPF: XPEL Ultimate Plus, Suntek Reaction, and STEK DynoShield are the most common. For ceramic coating: Ceramic Pro, Gtechniq, Modesta, System X, and IGL Kenzo cover most of the market.

How long does each service take?+

Partial PPF: 1–2 days. Ceramic coating alone: 1–3 days (including cure). Full color-change wrap: 3–5 business days. Full-body PPF: 5–10 business days depending on panel disassembly. Fleet wraps are quoted per vehicle and scheduled in batches.

Is ceramic coating worth it over PPF?+

They do different jobs. Ceramic coating is a chemical sealant that adds gloss, hydrophobic beading, and easier washing for 3–9 years but does not stop rock chips. PPF is a physical urethane layer that absorbs impact and self-heals light scratches. The strongest package is PPF on high-impact panels plus a ceramic coating on top for shine and easier maintenance.

Can shops match a specific color, like a factory OEM shade?+

Yes. Premium cast vinyl catalogs from 3M, Avery, Inozetek, and KPMF cover hundreds of stock colors, and many shops can print a custom color to spec or wrap in a paint-match printed film. Ask the shop for physical film samples on your vehicle in natural light before committing.

How do I care for a fresh wrap or ceramic coating?+

Wait 48 hours before washing. Hand-wash only with a pH-neutral shampoo, use two buckets and a soft mitt, and avoid automated brush washes and high-pressure edges. For matte and satin finishes, skip any wax or spray sealant not explicitly approved for matte vinyl. Garage storage and shade dramatically extend film life in SoCal sun.
